An icon of the classic modern style, this piece was originally designed as a “Throne” for the king of Spain during the inaugural ceremony of the German pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition at Barcelona. The frame is welded into a single piece. Thick straps supporting the seat pad and chair back are screwed or riveted into the frame.
